MOSCOW, March 26 (RIA Novosti) - French movie Mont Blanc won the grand prix of the Vertical 8th international festival of mountain and adventure films, festival's president, first vice president of the Russian Olympic Committee Valery Kuzin told journalists on Saturday.
All in all, 125 movies from 19 countries took part in the contest. These are documentaries on mountain skiing, mountaineering, cliff-hanging, speleology, sailing sports and extreme tourism.
According to Kuzin, many directors from Russian regions, namely the Altai territory, the Buryat Republic, the Stavropol territory, the Tomsk region, etc., took part in the festival.
Operation Polar Ring movie (Russia) won a special award of the festival, Valery Kuzin said.
We shall be seeking the state status of the festival this year, he stressed.
