INTER-PARLIAMENTARY CONTACTS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND ARGENTINA GROW STRONGER

BUENOS AIRES, March 28 (RIA Novosti, Yury Nikolayev) - A delegation of the State Duma, headed by its Deputy Speaker Vladimir Pekhtin, arrives on Monday in Buenos Aires at the invitation of the leadership of the House of Deputies of the Argentine National Congress, the Russian Embassy in Argentina reported.

During the visit, which will last till April 1, the Russian delegation will conduct negotiations with the leadership of the Congress, the Foreign Ministry and will also meet with Vice President of the country Daniel Scioli, a spokesman for the Russian Embassy said. At their meetings the Russian and Argentine parliamentarians and representatives of the executive power will discuss economic and political cooperation between the two countries as well as urgent issues of international relations.

The Russian delegation will also meet with members of the Russian-Argentine Entrepreneurial Council and will discuss the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The State Duma deputies will visit one the country's biggest hydroelectric power stations, Salto Grande, on which 14 Russian units with turbines had been installed.

At the end of their visit, the Russian parliamentarians will meet with compatriots in the Russian Embassy.
