"The leaders betrayed the March 24 Revolution literally in three days. Everything is returning to the old situation. The Akayev regime has been replaced by a double, more sophisticated and cunning Akayev-Bakiyev regime," the leaders of the March 27 Committee said.
In their opinion, protest leaders used the people to climb the government ranks and assume power.
The March 27 Committee was set up Sunday after the new parliament, in which Akayev's associates are represented, had been recognized as legitimate.
The Committee leaders, who came to parliament Monday, told reporters that their organization includes the people's leaders and representatives of regional organizations who have appeared during the unrest.
The Committee is demanding the holding of new parliamentary elections, changing the composition of the Central Election Commission and democratizing the legislation.
"The protest started amid the people, but the official leaders have betrayed us. We will again go to the people," said Sapar Argymbayev, chairman of the regional committee of the People's Unity that joined the Committee.
Committee leaders said that they had called upon the people to come to a meeting in Bishkek in the evening. In case their demands are not satisfied, they intend to call upon the people in the regions.
Meanwhile, the parliament is electing its speaker using secret ballots. Two of the three candidates, including Kubatbek Baibolov and Jantoro Satybaldiyev, refused to accept their nomination.
Thus, only one candidate remains, Omurbek Tekebayev, who represents the south of the country.
He has already been elected to parliament three times and is known for his criticism of overthrown President Askar Akayev's policy.
Parliament members hailed the two candidates' decisions to refuse to accept their nominations, saying the gesture demonstrates "consensus and unity" in the new parliament.
