As Kabar agency reports addressing Prime Minister and acting president of the republic Kurmanbek Bakiyev, the ombudsman noted that the address "is caused by concern over the fact that officials of the bodies of executive and judicial power, the Prosecutor's Office, militia, the National Security Service and other bodies, who grossly violated human rights and freedoms, are either being reinstated to their jobs, or are continuing to sit in their armchairs."
Mr. Bakir-uulu asks the acting president "not to let such turncoats use the levers of power, the people must be protected from such officials."
In his address to curator of the country's power structures Felix Kulov the ombudsman stated that "it is an open secret that during Akayev's rule, along with the high-placed officials of the White House, the judicial and law-enforcement bodies were the most inveterate violators of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen."
Furthermore, addressing Askar Akayev, Bakir-uulu called upon him to write an application for his resignation and to send it to the parliament for the sake of stabilization of the situation in the country.
