"Globalization concerns the interests of all the states without exception. This process does not only have positive consequences but often a destructive potential", Dmitriev said.
He stressed that globalization deepens the division of states in their levels of development and often leads to the growth of xenophobia with regard to relatively well-to-do countries and to demands of a fairer distribution of resources on the opposite pole.
"It is clear today that no country can oppose such threats as international terrorism, organized crime, illegal drug traffic and other challenges of the transnational nature", the Russian ambassador noted.
Opposing them is only possible by a combined effort, he said.
"Russia is for taking collective measures that would make the process of
globalization more manageable and, hence, fairer. Russia is open for the closest cooperation with other states in reaching this goal", Dmitriev said.
He stressed that, in this connection, Moscow notes with interest the reinvigoration of integration processes in Latin America and is ready for cooperation with countries in the region.
