BISHKEK, March 30 (RIA Novosti) - Opposition leader Adakhan Madumarov intends to run for Kyrgyz presidency at the June 26 elections. At a Wednesday press conference he hinted that he would be a rival of Kurmanbek Bakiyev, who was the first to claim this intention.

"The revolutionaries had two purposes - to make the authorities invalidate the new parliament and hold early presidential elections. However, only one demand of the opposition was fulfilled," the Kyrgyz AKI-press agency quoted Madumarov as saying.

According to him, Bakiyev offered him the post of a Vice Premier in the new government. However, Madumarov declined this proposal as he disagrees with the policy of the former opposition. He does not acknowledge the new government, which, in his opinion, does not exist, and considers all the new appointments illegal.

The new leadership is making many mistakes because its works began with illegal actions.

The politician who has a parliamentary experience and was considered a presidential candidate in 2000, earlier told local media that the opposition would not nominate a single candidate for the elections because of different political ambitions.

"These people have a serious political experience but childish interests," Adakhan Madumarov said commenting on conflicts in the opposition ranks.
