PICHUGIN CASE FEATURES KHODORKOVSKY'S FATHER

MOSCOW, March 30 (RIA Novosti) - The case of Alexei Pichugin, a staffer of the Yukos security service, sentenced to 20 years by the Moscow City Court on Wednesday, features the name of Khodorkovsky, prosecutor Kamil Kashayev said at a press conference in Moscow.

In particular, Kashayev said, a witness testified that Sergei Gorin, who Pichugin is accused of murdering, "and his friend visited the country house of Khodorkovsky's father where they had an over 1.5-hour conversation."

"Gorin informed Khodorkovsky's father of the orders, murders," said Kashayev.

According to the prosecutor, at his meeting with Khodorkovsky's father, Gorin also said that if he was not paid for the fulfilled contract killing, he would reveal the truth.

When asked why the investigators put forward no charges against Khodorkovsky's father, the prosecutor said he did not want to comment on it yet. "I do not want to talk about it now, the inquiry is not over. Besides, the Pichugin case still includes some episodes that need to be clarified," said the prosecutor.
