"I have been honored with heading the RFU," said Koloskov. "Due to a number of reasons, I decided to leave the post ahead of schedule."
Koloskov said that for the years of his presidency the RFU turned into a really democratic organization with a highly developed infrastructure that trains coaches. Koloskov stressed that the organization he had headed for many years was "practically fully self-financed."
"It's natural that there are a lot of unresolved problems," he noted. In his opinion, the new RFU president who will be elected on Saturday should first of all pay attention to training coaches and creating a single sector of football.
"Football needs reformation," said Koloskov. "The new RFU president should see priority in interaction with the state and its involvement in resolution of soccer problems in Russia."
RFU delegates accepted his resignation unanimously. After the announcement of the vote results, Koloskov was given a standing ovation.
