MOSCOW, April 3 (RIA Novosti) - It is likely that the current negotiations between Kyrgyz president Askar Akayev, now in self-imposed exile in Russia, and members of Kyrgyzstan's parliament will continue into Monday, an official in the Kyrgyz Embassy, where the talks are taking place, said. But the official, who spoke with RIA Novosti on condition of anonymity, would not reveal any details of the negotiating process.

The legislative delegation has arrived in the Russian capital to persuade Akayev to resign as President, Speaker Omurbek Tekebayev told reporters at a Moscow airport earlier today. He explained that under the Kyrgyz Constitution, when stepping down, a president shall submit his resignation to the legislature. The current situation in the country makes it impossible for Akayev to attend a parliamentary session in the Kazakh capital, Bishkek. Therefore, parliament has sent a group of MPs to Moscow so that they could meet with the exiled president and make all necessary arrangements. On their trip, the lawmakers are being accompanied by a notary public.

Neither side has put forward any additional demands, Tekebayev said.
