There are many reasons behind Yartsev's resignation, he said.
"A lot of biting criticisms were voiced in Yartsev's address", Chernov said. "Add to it that utterances from the national team left much to be desired. His decision has also been affected by the recent changes in the Russian Football Union (the resignation of Vyacheslav Koloskov, whose protege Yartsev was believed, and the election of the RFU new president Vitali Mutko)".
On Monday Russian chief coach Georgi Yartsev has tendered resignation, Mutko said in a live Ekho Moskvy broadcast.
Simultaneously, Mutko explained that the situation with the appointment of a new coach for the Russian national is to be settled within ten to 15 days to come.
The general manager also noted that there are many aspirants for the post of the chief coach of the Russian national football team.
"Are there worthwhile coaches in Russia? Yes, there are. Are there coaches abroad? Certainly there are. Vitali Mutko will take the final decision for he is entitled to", Alexander Chernov concluded.
