He said that this year the carrier group will fulfil combat missions in the Norwegian Sea and then the Atlantic.
He would not cite areas to be cruised.
Last Thursday the Admiral Kuznetsov with a regiment of carrier aviation returned from the exercise in the Barents sea proving ground.
Its commanding officer Alexander Shevchenko, Captain 1st Rank, told journalists that his ship had been in open sea for 20 days, covering about 2,000 nautical miles.
"During this cruise we acted out all the maneuvering properties and special missions, practiced flying skills by the helicopter and fighter air regiments, had missile and artillery fire drills", Shevchenko said.
Storms accompanied the entire cruise, he noted. "Still, the crew has proved high combat readiness and resolve", the captain said.
