"I wouldn't call it that because strenuous work was done and there was not a minute to spare", Tarasyuk says in the interview to the Den newspaper.
Simultaneously, the Ukrainian foreign minister noted that the climate of the meetings held was indeed "holiday-like". "The president was given a hearty welcome in the Congress, Chicago, Boston, the Georgetown University", Tarasyuk said.
As regards results of the visit, he said that the American and Ukrainian leaders have concluded a joint declaration, which "actually outlines new horizons for Ukrainian-American strategic partnership".
"The joint declaration cites conceptual assessments and plans for the future, specific things like the United States' prompting Ukraine's entry into the World Trade Organization this year. It is a very serious result", Tarasyuk said.
"Behind this obligation of the United States lies very specific and big work - provision of expert assistance in what concerns final formalities in accession to the WTO, a favorable approach to the handling of problems in bilateral economic relations and, lastly, political bias of the president of the United States", stressed the head of the Ukrainian foreign policy establishment.
Another important outcome of Yischenko's American visit is, in Tarasyuk's opinion, the signing of a memorandum between the Eximbank (the United States) and Ukreximbank (Ukraine) on creating a credit-guarantee line for export support.
Tarasyuk stressed that "nobody today doubts the need of rejecting the Jackson-Vanick amendment or granting Ukraine the status of a market-economy country".
"Of course, much work lies ahead. The American Congress is to make its mind", Tarasyuk said.
He sees as the main result of the Yuschenko visit "the resumption of top-level dialog between the leaderships of the two countries", which "has actually not been in place since 2000".
