LARGE-SCALE ANTITERRORIST EXERCISE BEGAN IN SOUTH OF RUSSIA

ROSTOV-ON-DON, April 11 (RIA Novosti, Sofya Brykanova) - A large-scale exercise in the course of which the executive authorities are polishing up actions in case of dramatic deterioration of the situation under the command of the Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev on the territory of the Southern Federal District on Monday.

As the press service of the North Caucasian district told RIA Novosti, in effect, all the entities of the district are participating in the exercise.

The servicemen of the Interior Ministry, the FSB, the MChS, the Interior bodies, and the Defense Ministry will participate in the operations.

"The mechanisms of interaction of the federal bodies of the Russian Federation's executive power during the accomplishment of anti-terrorist tasks will be adjusted in the course of the exercise, and the single algorithm of their actions will be worked out," the agency's interlocutor said.

A tactical and special exercise with field firing and the attraction of aviation will be held on the territory of the Rostov Region on Tuesday within the training assembly.

A total of about 12,000 people, more than 90 control and command bodies, and 50 military units of Russia will participate in the exercise.
