TBILISI, April 12 (RIA Novosti's Marina Kvaratskhelia) - President of the self-proclaimed republic of Abkhazia Sergei Bagapsh rules out the possibility of his visit to Tbilisi and meeting with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.

Bagapsh denied the information on his arrival in Tbilisi during U.S. President George Bush's visit on May 10 in a telephone interview with the Imedi TV company (Georgia).

Touching upon the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict peaceful settlement and the US role in it, Bagapsh said that Russia helps solve the problem.

"Russia tackles our problems but we are ready to discuss them with the United States, Great Britain and other countries which can help us," the president said.

Chairman of the Georgian parliamentary committee for defense and security Givi Targamadze told journalists about the possible arrival of the leaders of the self-proclaimed republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia during George Bush's visit to Tbilisi before the Tuesday meeting with U.S. President's Senior Advisor on Eurasia Steven Mann.

According to Targamadze, Mann discussed this idea with President Bagapsh and Vice President Raul Khadzhimba during his visit to Sukhumu (Abkhazia's capital) on April 11.

Steven Mann told journalists that his visit to Sukhumi was not linked with Bush's forthcoming visit to Tbilisi.
