Starting in the first position thanks to a lucky qualification on Saturday, Bouchou drove two shifts before passing the steering wheel to Nikolai Fomenko.
Shortly before Fomenko's shift ended, an unpleasant episode happened during Stephan Ortelli's attempt in an Audi R8 prototype to outpace the Russian team's Ferrari by a lap. Bonegasc made a braking mistake on a slippery road and crashed into the Ferrari on the right. Both the cars were turned around but they returned into the race.
"Ortelli overestimated his chance and overbraked on the turn. Luckily, the episode ended well for both and we continued. But we had to drive for an extra pit stop to check the car condition and again lost time", Fomenko commented on the episode.
The third to drive was Alexei Vasilyev. He drove fine in the once-again fogged road and let Christof Bouchou finish second in the GT1 class. At the finish the French diver drove top-class and even somewhat cut the distance from the forward-placed Ferrari 550 of the BMS team. However, the Italian advantage was only comfortable.
