MOSCOW, April 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and NATO have started drawing up a scheme to set up a center that will train staff for Afghanistan's anti-drug agencies, official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Yakovenko reported referring to the session of the Russia-NATO Council due to take place in Vilnius on April 21.
"We believe that cooperation in the Afghan drug problem, threatening the stability and security of the Euro-Atlantic region, can become the priority sphere of cooperation within the framework of the Russia-NATO Council," the spokesman pointed out.
"The Russia-NATO Council has started considering its opportunities in this connection, including the implementation of a pilot scheme to establish a center to train staff for the anti-drug agencies of Afghanistan and drug-transit countries of Central Asia under the aegis of the Council," the official said.
