The new club will be a nonprofit organization aloof to politics, he said. Those at the club cradle aim to help its members do their bit to build up Russia's security and defense potential. The club will bring together eminent military officers on high posts, whether now or in the past.
"We want to take part in stabilizing the nation and so help fill in a gap between the public and the top echelons," remarked Marshal Sergeyev.
There are several war veteran leagues, the Interior Ministry, the Ministry for Emergency and Calamity Relief, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Federal Government Information Service, the Federal Postal Service and railroad troops among club founders.
The club will emerge with a contribution to 60th V-E Day anniversary galas. In particular, it will take part in an international military research conference under the motto, "War, nation and victory", said Marshal Sergeyev.
