According to the Russian Defense Ministry's spokesman, Ivanov is to meet Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk.
The meeting will be attended by General Yuri Baluyevsky, chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
According to the ministry's spokesman, the meeting will dwell on military and military-technical cooperation issues of mutual interest as well as those relating to establishing the Russian-Belarus union state.
Particularly, the officials will discuss beefing up the combined air defense system, combined combat training and favorable terms for training of personnel, the officer noted.
Special attention will be paid to the fundamentals of the union state's conscription and military service legislation. The Russian and Belarus military leaders are to submit detailed draft documents in this field.
In addition, the meeting will consider the union state's program of improving and maintaining military infrastructure installations slated for use in support of the regional task force of the Russian and Belarus militaries.
The joint college of the Russian and Belarus defense ministries has convened biannually since 2002 alternating between Minsk and Moscow.
