MOSCOW, April 20 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes that the talks with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice are above all aimed at preparing the forthcoming Russia-US summit.
"Your current visit and the subsequent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin will help us prepare for another Russian-US summit," Lavrov said in his opening remarks.
"We want to consider how the presidents' agreements are being implemented and what else needs to be done," the minister said.
"International affairs will inevitably come under discussion," added Lavrov.
"We should make the most of the remaining time," the minister concluded.
Before the talks began, Lavrov and Rice talked face-to-face for about five minutes.
