A high-ranking Defense Ministry official explained that "these are air defense short-range missiles with maximum range of five kilometers."
"Several months ago, GRU representatives in Tel Aviv provided Israeli military with technical characteristics of this complex, explaining that it cannot be transformed and used in portable version," the source stressed.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the Israeli media that "these complexes are designed to destroy air targets only within visible range."
"In addition, these systems are installed on vehicles and it is impossible to transfer them to terrorists without being noticed," the Russian President emphasized. According to Putin, Russian military experts have the right to monitor and inspect the facilities for storage and deployment of these complexes.
