#OVER 120 RUSSIAN MODELS TO BE FEATURED AT ARMS SHOW IN BRAZIL#

MOSCOW, April 25 (RIA Novosti's Olga Semyonova) - The Russian arms export agency Rosoboronexport is to bring over 120 models of weaponry and military hardware to this year's Latin America Aerospace & Defense (LAAD) show in Brazil. The show will be running April 26 through 29 at Brazil's largest exhibition venue, Riocentro, outside Rio de Janeiro, the Rosoboronexport press office announced Monday.

Previously, the LAAD show's focus was the defense industry, but this year it has been expanded to include aerospace technologies as well, a Rosoboronexport spokesperson said. To demonstrate new commercial and military aircraft in action, exhibition flights will be performed on the show's sidelines.

The Russian stand will feature a whole range of Sukhoi models, including the multipurpose fighters Su-27SKM and Su-30MK, the airborne fighter Su-33, the SU-32 bomber, and the Su-39 attack plane, the Rosoboronexport official said.

Other Russian exhibits will include the military transport helicopter Mi-171Sh, the transport & combat helicopter Mi-35M, the combat helicopter Mi-28NE, and the heavy transport helicopter Mi-26. Shoulder-launched surface-to-air Igla missiles will be on the show, as well.

As the Rosoboronexport spokesperson said, the Russian stand will showcase an entire spectrum of anti-aircraft systems of varying range. According to the official, many of the Russian-made anti-aircraft missiles are technically superior to their foreign counterparts. One of such state-of-the art systems is the multipurpose Buk-M1-2. It has a firing range of over 42 kilometers, and can simultaneously hit up to six targeted aircraft flying from different sides at an altitude of 15 to 25 kilometers.

Visitors to the LAAD show will be offered detailed information on the wide range of armored vehicles on display, including the tanks T080U and T-90S and the armored personnel carriers BMP-2, BMP-3, BMD-2 and BMD-3.
