MOSCOW, APRIL 26, (RIA Novosti) - More than 20,000 veterans, who live in Israel, will receive jubilee medals in connection with the 60-th VE-Day anniversary. This was disclosed to RIA Novosti here today by the Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesman Alexander Yakovenko.
"More than 1,000,000 compatriots live in Israel. They perceive both Russia and Israel as their homeland. It will not be an exaggeration to say that the forthcoming VE-Day celebrations in Moscow are our common holiday," Yakovenko noted.
According to Yakovenko, Russia and Israel must activate the tremendous bilateral-interaction potential and those special ties between our peoples for the sake of more profound and expanded ties.
"We must attach priority to enhancing its material base and analyzing joint innovation projects, so that people could communicate easier," Yakovenko said.
