MOSCOW, April 27 (RIA Novosti) - Brass bands will again play in the Alexander Garden, along the Kremlin wall, starting Mayday next. A delightful custom will thus be reborn after a hundred-year break.
The Presidential Band will open a military brass band festival, to last from May through October, Sergei Devyatov said to Novosti. He is chief of PR for the Federal Bodyguard Service.
Bands will be playing for the public every Sunday in a festival to be put on an annual footing. The tradition gets back to the reign of Alexander I, early in the 19th century, added Mr. Devyatov.
