"Russia views this exhibition as having significance in Latin America and the world", said Russian chief delegate Alexander Fomin, deputy chief of the Federal Service for Russia's Military-Technical Cooperation.
On show at the Russian stands are many specimens of military equipment, aviation, the air defense and land forces, small arms. As the leading state enterprise Rosoboronexport is responsible for military-technical cooperation and issue of permissions for military exports and imports, Fomin said. He stressed that Russia is ready to offer to potential buyers not only military hardware and armaments but also their production technologies.
It was said at the presentation that good prospects for military industrial cooperation are open for Russia and Brazil.
In turn, Rosoboronexport deputy general director Vladimir Pakhomov said that at this exhibition Russia presents different projects of promoting Russian machines and armaments to Brazil.
"One concrete result reached in recent years is the shipment to Brazil of portable antiaircraft systems Igla for hitting military low-altitude targets", he said. "Russian portable antiaircraft systems are broadly recognised in the world and our Brazilian colleagues have not bypassed this fact", Pakhomov added.
