MOSCOW, April 28 (RIA Novosti) - Russia deeply sympathizes with calamity-stricken Serbia-Montenegro, Romania and Georgia, and commiserates with the bereaved, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs press and information department says in a public statement circulated tonight.
Showers at month's end caused a flood in the Romanian west-the most destructive over several preceding decades, with many victims and tremendous material damage. Georgia and Serbia-Montenegro are also badly stricken.
Moscow offers heartfelt sympathy to those friendly nations, and condoles with the bereaved, says the statement.
