MOSCOW, April 28 (RIA Novosti) - The 60th V-Day anniversary in Moscow will be celebrated on a wider scale than the 50th jubilee and will be less difficult to organize than St.Petersburg's 300th birthday. This is the opinion of the jubilee organizing committee's members.
"This jubilee promises to have greater repercussions than the celebration of the 50th and 55th anniversaries. Even the accredited journalists were twice as few ten years ago. This event is attracting a special attention," said Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov.
Moscow streets will be thronged with seven million Muscovites and guests on the ninth of May, he said.
"There will be very many people. All the figures we usually plan turn out to be smaller than the actual number of Muscovites taking part in the celebrations. I think what we see on May 9 will resemble the festivities on the occasion of the 850th anniversary of Moscow," the mayor said at a press-conference this Thursday.
