* The Cultural Center of the Armed Forces will be the venue of a civil patriotic forum dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) against Nazism (1941-1945). Organized by the Civil Society Institute, it will announce the results of the project "The Live Voices of History" which involved about a million people of Russia's 45 regions from September 2004 to April 2005. The forum will be attended by 500 project enthusiasts from 34 regions of Russia (10 a.m.)

* On Poklonnaya Hill, Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov will signal the start of the Moscow fountains (midday), this ceremony preceded by a small festive show.

* Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II will head a nighttime Easter service at the Christ the Savior Cathedral (11 p.m.)

ST.PETERSBURG

* The Zimny stadium will open Russia's first judo veterans tournament and an international children's competition "Olympic Starts" (April 30-May 1). Over 1,200 athletes have confirmed their participation, among them Olympic, world and European champions.

BARUTH, GERMANY

* A commemorative ceremony to mark sixty years since the end of WWII in Europe will be held at a cemetery where the remains of 1,200 Soviet soldiers are buried. To attend are German Defense Minister Peter Struck, Land Brandenburg Prime Minister Matthias Platzeck, Russian ambassador Vladimir Kotenev, and war veterans from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
