MOSCOW, April 30 (RIA Novosti) - Pensioners from among servicemen and their families residing in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia will get monthly payments from Russia. A relevant order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, said the Russian government.
Payments envisaged by article 231 of the law "On Veterans" will be made through social welfare departments under the Russian embassies in these three countries in foreign currency. The monthly payment sum in rubles will be converted to foreign currencies in line with the exchange rate set by the Bank of Russia as of January 1, 2005.
If the size of the payment is changed in line with Russian laws, its recalculation will be made proceeding from the exchange rate set by the Bank of Russia as of the day of recalculation, said the government's press service.
