MOSCOW, May 1 (RIA Novosti) - Unsanctioned picketing in front of the Prosecutor General's Office building in Moscow did not result in disturbances, Moscow police officials told RIA Novosti.

"Currently, the AKM (Advanced Guard of the Red Youth) activists who set up the picket have left the place. The situation near the buildings of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Federation Council is under control," they said.

The police officials denied rumors about attempts to erect barricades spread by some media sources.

"Nobody ever attempted to erect barricades," they stated.

The National Bolshevik party spokesman Alexander Averin also told RIA Novosti that the party members had not attempted to create public disturbances near the buildings of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Federation Council (the upper chamber of the Russian parliament).

"We had a meeting at Teatralnaya Square, and that was it," he said.

At the same time, spokesperson for the AKM movement Anastasia Udaltsova confirmed in an interview with RIA Novosti that "movement activists picketed the building of the Prosecutor General's Office on Bolshaya Dmitrovka."

The unsanctioned picketing was caused by the detention of six AKM activists by the police, she said.

"As soon as they had been released, we left the place in front of the building," Udaltsova added.
