ZARYA (Moscow region), May 5 (RIA Novosti) - China asks Russia to expand the selection of various types of aircraft for participation in joint maneuvers scheduled for fall, Russian Air Force Commander Vladimir Mikhailov told journalists at a press conference in the village of Zarya (the Moscow region).
"The Chinese side asks to expand the list," Mikhailov said.
"He was not specific about the types of planes selected for participation in the maneuvers, although he acknowledged the fact that the Russian Air Force would certainly take part in the military exercise.
Earlier (April 8), Mikhailov said, "the Russian Air Force will be represented by transport and heavy aviation, and also by aircraft from front and army aviation."
Mikhailov also said the commander of the Russian Airborne Troops had asked him to allocate two additional transport planes. "All issues related to the joint Russian-Chinese maneuvers have not been coordinated yet," he said.
