KIEV, May 6 (RIA Novosti) - The US Navy's Carney destroyer will stay in Sevastopol on a friendly visit from May 7 to 10, reports the Novosti-Ukraine agency with reference to the Ukrainian defense ministry.
The Carney command is to be received by the Ukrainian Navy's commander Vice-Admiral Igor Knyaz and Sevastopol Mayor Sergey Ivanov. US and Ukrainian seamen will pay tribute to the heroic defenders of Sevastopol in the Nakhimov square while attending the events dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the V-Day. Besides, the guests will go sightseeing about Sevastopol, reports the defense ministry.
For their part, Ukrainian naval officers and Nakhimov school cadets will visit the Carney destroyer to borrow from the American experience of providing a ship's combat survivability.
