MOSCOW, May 11 (RIA Novosti) - The 4th Moscow Easter Music Festival brought together a thousand performers from 31 countries. The festival involved many Russian towns, all gathering full houses for a total 95 concerts, 72 of them charitable, Valery Gergiev, celebrated opera conductor and festival director, said to a summing-up news conference.
"The festival is aimed for opera and other classic music lovers-in fact, for particular parts of that audience: low-income people, seniors, and young men and women.
"...The festival has firmly established itself as a national event. The public is enthusiastic about it-and that matters most," he said.
