The Russian School, opened on the basis of the education center Tsaritsyno, is for children having no opportunity of tuition in the mother tongue in their country of residence. So far, only senior-graders may be students by correspondence. They receive training materials by mail - CDs with the training course for the tenth and eleventh grades. Basic communication between teachers and students is through the Internet. Teachers send emails with home assignments to their pupils, which return the ready homework. The marks are given according to the customary five-point system.
"They only have to come to Moscow for the passing-out examinations and to receive the school-leaving certificates," said director of the Open Russian School Yefim Rachevsky. "Since there are no such subjects as the Russian history and the safe human activity basics at the CIS schools, such knowledge is obligatorily checked alongside the main exams."
