"The Bolshoi Theater did not plan any tour in Poland," Shvydkoi told RIA Novosti.
He said that the Polish side asked the Roskultura to support these guest performances, but "the Federal Agency did not find it possible to support this action."
Shvydkoi believes that the situation with the illegal use of the brand should be settled in the court.
Press secretary of the Bolshoi Theater Yekaterina Novikova said that "the theatre did not plan or organize its tour in Poland and did not give the right to anybody to use its brand."
A Bolshoi Theatre spokesman said that some soloists of the Bolshoi who are currently on vacations take part in the concerts in Poland on their own personal initiative.
The use of the Bolshoi brand, old or new, without the consent of the theatre, misleads the public and exposes to a risk of the reputation of the world famous theatre, the head of the Roskultura department, Maya Kabakhidze, said.
She added that the Bolshoi Theatre had nothing to do with these guest performances of the Russian opera and ballet group in Poland and that the Roskultura did not render any support to it.
The last guest performances of the Bolshoi in Poland were in December 2002.
It was reported yesterday that problems appeared in the Bolshoi Theatre, which is allegedly on tour in Poland. The Poles were returning tickets, since the role of Poland in the WWII was not mentioned during the May 9 celebrations on Red Square.
