Mikhail Rakhlevsky is a brilliant musician. Being committed to academic principles, he is fond of surprises. New concerts of the Kremlin orchestra are not an exception.
The series opened with musical jokes and parodies under the motto "Friday the 13th: Smile!" on May 13. On May 16, the orchestra performed compositions by Wolf, Popper, Rostropovich and Bartok. Slovak musician Eugen Prochac played a cello solo.
The May 19 concert is entitled "Spanish Nights." Guitarist Andrei Garin and the Kremlin orchestra will play music by Turina and Boccerini.
On May 23, the program "Let's Go to the Movies" will include works by Nino Rota and John Corigliano.
The final concert (May 27) will include compositions by Joseph and Michael Haydn. Emmanuel Borok (USA) and Fyodor Stroganov will play violin and harpsichord solos.
