MOZHAISK (Moscow region), May 20 (RIA Novosti) - Anti-terror exercises were held Friday at the Mozhaisk hydro-engineering facility in the Moscow region within the framework of the Trevoga (Alarm) drill during the emergence of a terrorist threat.
The detention of two terrorists who attacked a protected facility (the Mozhaisk hydro facility) was simulated during the exercises. The exercises involved units of the Interior Ministry, the Federal Security Service, and the Emergencies Ministry.
Andrei Kashtanov, chief of the non-departmental security department under the internal affairs main department of the Moscow region, who was placed in charge of the exercises, said that the choice of the Mozhaisk hydro facility was not fortuitous.
"The Mozhaisk hydro facility is of major importance and its damage could result in numerous casualties," he stressed.
There are 13 hydro-engineering facilities in the Moscow region supplying fresh water to Moscow.
