This week CSKA beat Sporting (Lisbon) 3-1 winning the UEFA Cup. They brought their trophy to Novo-Ogarevo.
Vladimir Putin congratulated the club on this "brilliant" victory. In his opinion, the number of football fans will increase in Russia after this event.
The footballers presented the President with a golden T-shirt released to mark the CSKA victory. The sign on the bosom reads, "Winner of the 2004-2005 UEFA Cup." The T-shirt has number 1 and the name 'Putin' on its back.
Moreover, Vladimir Putin received a ball with the footballers' autographs. CSKA forward Vagner Love (Brazil) asked the President to kick the ball. And so he did.
CSKA chief coach Valery Gazzayev invited the head of state to visit the Supercup final in Monaco on August 26.
