MOSCOW, May 25 (RIA Novosti) - CEO of RAO Unified Energy Systems of Russia (the state-controlled electricity monopoly) Anatoly Chubais will summoned to interrogation to the Russian Prosecutor General's Office following the major power outage in Moscow and nearby areas, a spokesman of the office told RIA Novosti.
On Wednesday the Russian Prosecutor General's Office launched criminal proceedings against RAO UES management on article "Negligence and abuse of power."
"Investigators are to give a legislative assessment of actions of each RAO UES boss and officials responsible for permanent power supplies," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Moreover, the damage inflicted by the power outage will be estimated.
Southern, southwestern and southeastern areas were affected by the power outage in Moscow this morning. Metro and suburban trains were halted for several hours. Moscow lost some 10% of its daily power consumption.
