MOSCOW, May 26 (RIA Novosti) - As of 8:00 a.m. Moscow time, about a thousand residential blocks in the south, southeast and southwest of the city and downtown did not have electricity, RIA was told in the main department of the emergencies ministry for Moscow. As of 6:00 a.m., 113 kindergartens and 106 schools, one maternity home, one ER substation, one tuberculosis sanatorium and other establishments (a total of 219 educational establishments and three healthcare facilities) had no electricity. Electricity has been restored at all water-supply stations of the city and the metro.
The GES-1, TEC-8, TEC-9, TEC-11 and TEC-26 power plants are working in the usual regime, while TEC-22 is preparing to resume operation.
About eight streetcar and 25 trolley-bus routes are not ready to service passengers yet, according to the officer of duty of the main department of the emergencies ministry for Moscow.
Commuter trains are running according to schedule, said Dmitry Kholichev, chief dispatcher of the Moscow Railway Line. "Electricity has been supplied to all zones and commuter trains run according to their usual schedule," he said.
