The fulfillment of a program of state and social support for Russian theatres abroad is being controlled by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Kalyagin said that the cultural unity of the Soviet Union followed its collapse. Time of troubles hit many Russian theatres in former soviet republics and the Center made every effort to help them.
Last year, the Center sent the president of Turkmenistan a letter requesting him to provide a Dushanbe-based Russian theatre with new premises.
The Center organizes exchange programs. Thus, Russian stage and pronunciation, and theatre movement teachers go to Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova to share their experience. Stage producers from Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other countries are invited to attend master classes in Moscow.
The Center also helps to recruit actors for plays staged in CIS and Baltic states.
Besides, it made a database of Russian theatres abroad. The Center sent out its questionnaires to deal with needs and problems of Russian theatres abroad.
