MOSCOW
* The Union of Rights Forces (SPS) party will hold a congress to elect its leader and outline the party policy (11.00). Newly elected heads of the party's federal political council will give a briefing at 19.30.
* Stockholders of the Korolev rocket and space corporation Energia, Russia's leading space enterprise, will meet at an annual general session to make a decision on the change of its top management (10.00). The will not be allowed to the meeting.
* Results of the final stage of the Victory relay race along the border of the CIS countries dedicated to the 60th anniversary of VE Day will be summed up in the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War on the Poklonnaya Hill (13.00).
* Moscow will host an all-Russia army close fight tournament dedicated to the 60th anniversary of VE Day (9.00).
* The All-Russia Exhibition Center (VVTs) will host the 5th Kvass (Russian cold drink) festival organized by the Moscow Kvass Association and the Moscow government (12.00). This holiday is dedicated to International Children's Day (June 1).
LIPETSK
* The Lipetsk regional council will consider the candidacy of Oleg Korolev nominated for the gubernatorial post by the Russian president. Korolev is the incumbent governor of the Lipetsk region.
ROSTOV REGION
* The Sholokhov Spring festival dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of Mikhail Sholokhov will open in Veshenskaya Cossack village, the birthplace of the great Russian writer. About 100,000 guests are expected to attend the festivities.
VLADIVOSTOK
* The Great Russian Way relay race across the whole country will start on the central square of Vladivostok. The super-marathon will finish in St. Petersburg on September 8. Well-known people, including former British ambassador to Russia Sir Roderic Lyne will participate in the race.
RIYADH
* The 2nd session of the Russian-Saudi joint intergovernmental commission for trade and economic and scientific-technical cooperation will open in Riyadh. It will focus on energy cooperation. Head of the Russian federal energy agency Sergei Oganesyan will lead the Russian delegation.
