"The Russian side has a unique technology for countering explosive devices used by terrorists," said Kislyak, who is also Russia's deputy foreign minister, following the working group's session in Washington.
We plan to expand our cooperation and hope for broader practical interaction between experts in this area, he said.
The US co-chairman of the group and US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Nicholas Burns, said that anti-terrorist experts in the US were already cooperating with Russian experts in the area of explosive devices.
The FBI works with the Russian government on the entire range of explosive-related problems, including searching for the best ways of countering terrorist practices and technologies, said Burns.
He said Russia and the US were faced with a real terrorist threat, and expressed his country's willingness to share information and to cooperate with Russia in countering terrorist techniques and technologies.
