Cows made of fire-resistant fiberglass and painted by Russian culture figures and pop stars will appear on Moscow streets, in trade centers and the Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo-2 international airports.
The best cows will be sold at Sotheby's in early November. The money gained from the auction will be used for charity purposes.
According to PR director of this project Nadezhda Antonova, the money will be sent to the children's hospice in St. Petersburg and art clubs for disabled children under the Pushkin State Fine Arts Museum in Moscow.
The 1st Cow Parade took place in Zurich in 1998. Chicago and New York hosted these events in 1999 and 2000. The charity auction held after the New York parade collected over $1 million.
After that, cow parades were held in London, Tokyo, Paris and Kansas City.
In 2005, cow parades will be held in Moscow, Barcelona, Florence, Bratislava, Monte Carlo, Bucharest and Sao Paulo.
