ASTANA, June 3 (RIA Novosti, Olga Protasenko, Dmitry Panovkin) - Russia has no reasons to withdraw personnel of the Russian diplomatic mission from Uzbekistan, Russian parliamentarian Konstantin Kosachev said on Friday.
I do not know what made the U.S. administration authorize the departure of some embassy staff from Uzbekistan, Kosachev, the chairman of the State Duma (the lower house of the Russian parliament) international affairs committee, told RIA Novosti.
"As far as I know, there are no real threats to the security of Russian citizens in Uzbekistan," he said.
"Russia has no reasons to take measures which the United States took," Kosachev added.
The U.S. Department of State authorized the departure of non-emergency personnel of the U.S. embassy from Uzbekistan.
