"The cessation of cooperation within the CIS would be counter-productive," Timoshenko said at a press conference in Tbilisi after the session of the Council of CIS Prime Ministers.
"The CIS should be developing together with our countries. I am convinced that this cooperation is necessary," she said.
According to her, Ukraine is interested in the formation of the Common Economic Space (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan).
"We intend to hold negotiations on the diversification of this process," Timoshenko said.
Ukraine's refusal to sign the protocol lifting mutual trade restrictions with the CIS countries does not mean any conflict, she said. It aims at promoting cooperation on the soonest formation of the Common Economic Space.
