LONDON, June 6 (RIA Novosti, Alexander Smotrov) - A group of Russian and British bikers finished the charity motor rally London-Vladivostok (a Russian port on the Pacific coast).

The rally was led by British businessman Nick Lang who marked his 53rd birthday in Chita on May 22. He was accompanied by his friend John Raymond and Russians Dmitry Paltsev and Alexei Nearanov.

The rally which started in early May lasted for 32 days, Red Square PR company giving consultative and information support for this project told RIA Novosti.

The travelers covered 8,200 miles (13,200 kilometers), crossed 10 time zones and lost some kilograms of weight. Fortunately, they did not face any malfunctions and incidents during the journey.

Lang said he was impressed by the beauty of Lake Baikal, friendliness and support of Russians and the charity fund Severnaya Korona (Northern Crown).

The bikers collected 10,000 pounds sterling for the journey. The money will be transferred to the Severnaya Korona fund run by Irina Kudrin, the wife of the Russian finance minister. The fund implements major programs to help disabled children and orphans.

As we were moving eastwards nothing was changing, Lang said. People had common looks and common clothes. They spoke without dialects, lived in similar houses and visited similar shops. The landscape and plants were changing, he added.

It was raining only once during the journey, Lang said. He was surprised at long freight trains in Russia consisting of over 86 cars.

According to Lang, Vladivostok is a Russian San Francisco, a busy port with long streets, trams, funiculars, old buildings and morning fogs.

Lang said he did not want to make this journey again adding that he planned a motor rally from St. Petersburg to Uzbekistan.
