Povetkin will challenge Czech boxer David Vicena in a four-round bout in Kempten (Germany), the web site www.allboxing.ru said.
The Russian boxer will debute in a show organized by Wilfried Sauerland's promotion company. According to the promoter, Povetkin is the world's most popular amateur boxer. Sauerland said he was happy that Povetkin who had undoubtedly received many proposals chose his company.
At the contract signing ceremony in Berlin Povetkin said he was glad to become a professional because he had already won all titles of amateur boxing.
Povetkin was close to signing a contract with British promoter Frank Warren. This information was published on Warren's official web site, however, it turned to be a mistake.
Warren planned to engage Povetkin in his Manchester show on June 4, with the fight of Kostya Tszyu and Ricky Hatton being the highlight.
