"The world championship will take place ten days before the session of the International Olympic Committee in Singapore, which will name the capital of the summer Olympics 2012," the Moscow city administration said.
Also among the candidate cities, Moscow hosted top international competitions not once. If arranged well, the aquabike racing world championship may improve Moscow's image in the world Olympic movement.
Aquabikes can be divided into two categories, ones with a seat and ones without a seat. The competition in Moscow will include racing in both categories, slalom and freestyle. The Russian Aqua-Motor Sports Federation will fund the event.
