ST. PETERSBURG, June 12 (RIA Novosti-Northwest, Maksim Nichiporenko) - St. Petersburg celebrates the century jubilee of Russia's oldest running locomotive today, the local railway service told RIA Novosti.

The Ov-324 was built in St. Petersburg in 1905 and has been operated across the nation - on the Chinese border, in the Russian Far East, and in the Baltic. Currently the locomotive is often engaged in famous Russian historical films - The Barber of Siberia (Sibirsky Tsiryulnik), Anna Karenina, and The State Counselor (Statsky Sovetnik) etc.

The Central Museum of the October (St. Petersburg) Railway will celebrate the jubilee today at the Varshavsky Railway Station, staging a performance about how the locomotive was built and commissioned. Then the locomotive will drive an entertainment journey from the station to Pavlovsk, a St. Petersburg suburb.
