DUSHANBE, June 13 (RIA Novosti) - President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai postponed again his working visit to Tajikistan scheduled to begin in the morning of June 13.
The office of the President of Tajikistan said that the Afghan leader's visit initially planned for June 2 had postponed for the second time.
The Tajik-Afghan negotiations at the highest level were expected to start at the Afghan port of Sherhan where Presidents Hamid Karzai and Emomali Rakhmonov planned to participate in the ceremony of laying the first stone to the foundation of a bridge across the Pyandzh River. The construction of a large stationary crossing was financed by the U.S. administration, which had allocated about $30 million for this purpose.
At their summit meeting, intended to be held later in the afternoon in Dushanbe, the Presidents of Afghanistan and Tajikistan planned to discuss economic co-operation, drug trafficking problems and border security.
